Siemens Positioner (SIPOS) Electric Actuator Co., Ltd. originated from Siemens 'PI division. In 1905, Siemens developed the world's first electric actuator, branding it SIPOS (short for SIEMENS Positioner).
To meet market demands, Siemens Electric Actuators was spun off from Siemens AG on October 1, 1999. The newly established company, SIPOS Aktorik GmbH (Siemens Electric Actuators GmbH), became a German-based legal entity specializing in electric actuators under the original SIPOS brand. Siemens transferred all its electric actuator-related operations to SiPOS, discontinuing production of these components.
