The function of the soot blower is to clear the slagging and ash accumulation on the heating surface, to keep the heating surface clean, and to ensure the safe and economical operation of the boiler.

The working principle of the soot blower is to utilize the high-speed jet formed at the nozzle outlet of the soot blower to flush the accumulated ash and coking on the heated surface. Superheated steam is commonly used as the soot-blowing medium in power plant boilers.

The furnace soot blower is a short extension type soot blower, which is a short stroke, retractable soot blower, used to blow water wall of furnace, its screw pipe can rotate 360° in the course of running, and has a cam control, to blow the pre-set position.
