The preheating gun ignition rod is the core ignition component of the RH vacuum refining furnace in the metallurgical industry. When paired with a high-energy igniter and high-voltage cables, it generates electrical sparks through high-frequency high-voltage discharge to ignite the fuel gas, thereby completing the furnace preheating and ignition process.

I. Structural Composition

Ignition head: Made of 310S high-temperature resistant alloy, with a temperature resistance up to 1300°C, and excellent resistance to carbon buildup and ablation.

Conductive rod: 304 stainless steel, high strength and corrosion-resistant;

Internal insulation: High-frequency ceramic insulation, resistant to high-voltage leakage current and breakdown;

Standard diameter: Φ18 mm;

Connection thread: Commonly M18×1, length customizable as needed.

II. Working Principle

High-voltage pulse current is transmitted via cables to the ignition rod → intense electrical spark discharge occurs between the two electrodes → igniting the gas in the preheating gun → formation of a stable flame → high-temperature preheating of the vacuum chamber; after successful ignition, the system exits the high-temperature zone to avoid prolonged burn damage.
